As the former Chief of Police for the City of Seattle, Stamper's observations are a welcomed contribution, especially for those of us seeking an easy-to-understand, jargon free policy discussion/5(40).

The whole ideal of serve and protect coming from a police officer(s) during a "supernatural" event is absurd even in fiction.

The National Guard, maybe. The Army, sure. The Marines, no doubt. But police, hell-no. This book tried to take police being heroes far to serious to be enjoyable even for a fantasy book/5.
